In response to questions from Members regarding affordable housing issues in Peel, Keith Medenblik confirmed that the Region of Peel’s housing priorities and the Affordable Housing Master Plan will be brought forward to the 2022 Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) Annual Conference this August.

Janice Baker, Chief Administrative Officer,  noted that reports are coming forward to the June 23, 2022 Regional Council meeting regarding the impacts of inflation and economic uncertainty which will impact the Housing Master Plan. She advised that the Region of Peel will continue to take a strong stance regarding housing issues with the provincial government, as well as continue to pursue funding opportunities related to affordable housing.

  • RECOMMENDATION GRC-6-2022

That the approach outlined in the report from the Chief Financial Officer and Commissioner of Corporate Services, listed on the June 16, 2022 Government Relations Committee agenda titled "2022 Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) Annual Conference Update", be endorsed.

Councillor Innis requested that the Highway427 Extension be added to the Region of Peel’s priorities with regard to the 2022 AMO Annual Conference.
