Norman Lee, Director of Waste Management and Erwin Pascual, Manager of Waste Planning, provided a brief overview of the three phases of the consultation plan and communication materials developed for residents, Board of Directors and/or Property Managers in townhouse complexes; and, the impacts of implementing the new waste collection options ahead of the new collection and cart contracts. They emphasized the importance of engaging with Councillors regarding the activities planned for their respective wards throughout the implementation and prior to engaging with any Boards of Directors, property managers and residents.
Members of the Committee discussed and raised questions regarding: options and potential central locations to inspect the various bin sizes; timelines for resident engagement; Ward Councillors’ and Region of Peel staff attendance at townhouse complex annual general meetings; and, other options to engage the residents, Boards of Directors and/or Property Managers.
In response to a question of clarification from Councillor Starr regarding number of meetings with Boards of Directors and/or Property Managers of townhouse complexes, Erwin Pascual undertook to provide the list of meetings once confirmed.
